ABOUT HOOKED ON FISHING

Hooked on Fishing is a non-profit, 501c3 organization established in 2008. The fishing park is a private fishing facility that has been opened up to the entire community through many generous donations. A number of local businesses have helped improve the park's facilities which were the former Dixon’s fishing ponds.

The park operates from May through October.  The park is staffed by volunteers who assist the many groups who visit the park for a fishing experience. Groups who have used the park include: schools, nursing homes, scout troops, churches,  special needs groups, developmentally disabled and physically challenged citizens,  and various other organizations. The park is also used for private birthday parties, reunions, company picnics, and other private events.

Hooked on Fishing provides all the fishing equipment and bait free of charge to the users.  We make available both group instruction and one-on-one fishing instruction to all visitors as needed.

The ponds are regularly stocked with fish including bluegill, bass, and catfish.  Everyone is sure to catch a fish.  All fishing is “catch and release”. Barbless hooks are used and careful removal is practiced.

Operating expenses are paid through donations and fund raising activities.

MISSION STATEMENT:
Our mission is to teach the sport and joy of fishing to local children, senior citizens, and special needs groups by providing the equipment, place, and education free of charge.
